PKM 5 in the Ministry of Education and Culture is a national Student Creativity Program which is held annually. This program is organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. On May 6th, 2021, out of 67.743 proposals submitted by participants it was announced that a total of 4.522 proposals were funded. There were 58 teams from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta that get funding. One of these teams is the one chaired by Wiwied Ishartuti (Studendt of Mathematics Study Program 2019).

The 2021 National Statistics Olympiad (ONS) is a competition organized by the Statistics Student Association (HIMASTA) of Gadjah Mada University. The Olympics consists of 3 stages, namely the preliminary round, semifinal round and final round. The preliminary round will be held online on March 6 2021 with a competition to work on 10 essay questions. Meanwhile, the semifinal round will be held online on March 27th, 2021 with the competition divided into 2 sessions, namely essays and data analysis.

31 March 2021, FMIPA UNY Student Affairs in 2020 selected 126 proposals submitted by FMIPA UNY students and obtained 100 titles (86 student research titles and 14 thesis research titles) which were declared passed and funded in the 2021 fiscal year. Statistics Study Program students in 2018 and 2019 succeeded in bringing fourteen proposals for funding. On Wednesday 10 March 2021, three lecturers from the Department of Mathematics Education, FMIPA UNY received a Decree for Professorship. We, the entire academic community, STATISTICS STUDY PROGRAM, FMIPA, YOGYAKARTA STATE UNIVERSITY are happy and proud of the achievements of the Professor, Prof. Dr. Sugiman, M.Sc. (Professor in Mathematics Education), Mr. Prof. Dr. Agus Maman Abadi, M.Sc. (Professor of Mathematics), Mrs. Prof. Dr. Dhoriva Urwatul Wutsqa, M.S. (Professor of Mathematics).

The UNY Student Competition (KOMMA) is an annual prestigious competition between faculties throughout UNY which this year was held on 18-20 December 2020. This year, in the E-Sport Mobile Legends competition there were 18 teams consisting of various faculty representatives.

PERMUTATION 2020 is a National Level Mathematics Paper Competition held by Gadjah Mada University (UGM) every year. In 2020, the theme is "Optimizing the Role of Mathematics through the Development of the World of Multidisciplinary Research and Scientific Collaboration as a Solution to Global Problems". This competition is attended by participants both individually and in teams with a maximum of three people. Participants who are allowed to register are undergraduate and/or master's students and/or undergraduate graduates (maximum 3 years from the year of graduation).
