In July 2023, the Statistics Study Program of the Department of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta collaborated with the Sleman Communication and Information Service to conduct a survey activity on the use of Wifi Padukuhan in Sleman Regency. The Padukuhan WiFi program is designed to support the community in accessing the internet easily and affordably. Therefore, a study is needed to assess its use and provide an overview for the Sleman Regency Government in improving and evaluating activities both in terms of infrastructure development and benefits for the community. This survey activity is a collaboration between the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta and the Sleman Regency Communication and Information Service which will be carried out during July – November 2023.

Before surveying the field, technical guidance training was held for enumerators and a questionnaire readability test was held. The survey was carried out in Sleman Regency with attention to the installation of Padukuhan Wifi in all (17) Kapanewon namely Berbah, Cangkringan, Depok, Gamping, Godean, Kalasan, Minggir, Mlati, Moyudan, Ngaglik, Ngemplak, Pakem, Prambanan, Seyegan, Sleman, Tempel and Turi. The selection of sample points was carried out randomly by paying attention proportionally to the installation of WiFi for each Kapanewon.

This activity can increase insight and knowledge for students regarding preparing questionnaires, collecting data, and direct interviews. Debriefing activities were also held, such as technical guidance for 34 student enumerators to prepare students to carry out surveys. This is a valuable experience for Statistics students who are directly involved in dealing with the surrounding community to obtain primary data.
