UNY Statistics Study Program Student, Adi Setiawan, as Finalist in the 2020 UGM PERMUTATION Scientific Writing Competition

PERMUTATION 2020 is a National Level Mathematics Paper Competition held by Gadjah Mada University (UGM) every year. In 2020, the theme is "Optimizing the Role of Mathematics through the Development of the World of Multidisciplinary Research and Scientific Collaboration as a Solution to Global Problems". This competition is attended by participants both individually and in teams with a maximum of three people. Participants who are allowed to register are undergraduate and/or master's students and/or undergraduate graduates (maximum 3 years from the year of graduation). Representatives from Yogyakarta State University (UNY) are the "UNY Team" consisting of Adi Setiawan (2018 Statistics Study Program student) as team leader and two other members, namely Wahyuni Eka Maryati (2017 International Mathematics Education Study Program student) and Rania Nova Dechandra (2017 International Mathematics Education Study Program student) Mathematics 2018). The UNY team successfully became finalists in this prestigious paper competition.

The paper competition begins with the abstract selection and full paper selection, then continues with the final round in the form of questions and answers with reviewers. On August 8, 2020, the UNY team was one of 75 teams that passed the abstract selection and passed the full paper selection. On October 26, 2020, the "UNY team" succeeded in becoming one of the 20 teams with the best paper and had the right to qualify for the final round. In the final round, each team was asked to make a video presentation which was then uploaded to YouTube. On Sunday 22 November 2020, the final round was held online with BBB UGM, then there was a question and answer session with examiners/reviewers for each finalist team.
