KKNM-30793 UNY Strengthens Data Governance in Gamplong IV through a Website, Infographics, and Dashboard to Support SDG 16

Sleman, September 20 — Up-to-date and well-structured community data and information are essential to support administration and public services at the hamlet level. The demographic conditions of Gamplong IV Hamlet have also undergone changes in line with the planned construction of a toll road, which is expected to affect some members of the community. This situation encouraged the KKNM-30793 Team of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) to support the updating and digitalization of community information through the development of digital information media in Gamplong IV Hamlet, Sumberrahayu Village, Moyudan District, Sleman Regency.

The KKNM-30793 Team implemented three interconnected programs: the Gamplong IV Hamlet Website, Gamplong Data Insight: Population Infographics of Gamplong IV Hamlet, and the Gamplong IV Hamlet Population Data Dashboard. These three programs were developed as an integrated system, with the website serving as the primary medium for presenting information. The infographic and dashboard programs were developed by Statistics students using processed population data, while the website was developed by Information Technology students to integrate and present both outputs.

The development of these information media was supported by the Population Data Digitalization program, which involved collecting and directly validating data from 209 households in Gamplong IV Hamlet. Initial data obtained from existing family cards were reviewed and validated against the actual conditions of the community in the field. In addition to demographic data, the process also included information on residents affected by the planned toll road construction, BPJS participation, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and recipients of social assistance programs such as PKH, BPNT, PBI JK, and PIP/KIP. The collected data were subsequently processed and adjusted before being used as the basis for developing the infographics and dashboard.

The Gamplong Data Insight: Population Infographics of Gamplong IV Hamlet program was developed by Jemima Savitri Irianty, a Statistics student, by processing, categorizing, and summarizing data based on relevant demographic characteristics. The processed data were then presented visually through figures, charts, and brief descriptions to make the information easier to understand. Meanwhile, the Gamplong IV Hamlet Population Data Dashboard was developed by Qolbu Salim, a Statistics student, as an interactive data visualization platform. The dashboard was created using Looker Studio and equipped with filtering and data search features to facilitate users in exploring population information.

The outputs of the two programs developed by the Statistics students were subsequently integrated into the Information Technology students’ program, the Gamplong IV Hamlet Website. The website serves as the primary medium for delivering digital information about Gamplong IV Hamlet, as well as a platform for presenting the population infographics in digital form and the interactive population dashboard. This integration allows various processed information to be presented through a single, more structured, and accessible platform for both the community and local hamlet authorities.

Through these three programs, the KKNM-30793 Team of UNY supports SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by strengthening information management to support administration, public services, and planning at the hamlet level.
