Training on Educational and Social Science Data Analysis with a Nonparametric Approach Using the JASP Program

The Statistics Study Program of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) in collaboration with the Mathematics Education Study Program of Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa (UST) has successfully held a Community Service (PkM) activity entitled "Training on Educational and Social Science Data Analysis with a Nonparametric Approach Using the JASP Program". This activity took place for three days in June 2025 and was part of the PkM scheme for Professor and/or Structural Lecturer Assignments funded by UNY. The training was held on June 11, 12, and 19, 2025, at the UST Integrated Laboratory, with participants consisting of UST Mathematics Education students and lecturers. This activity aims to improve the ability to analyze educational and social data using a nonparametric approach, which is considered more flexible in handling data that does not meet parametric assumptions. Three presenters were presented in this training, namely Andika Putri Ratnasari, M.Si. who presented material on the operation of the JASP program and the analysis of two independent groups; Rizky Nur'Aini, M.Stat. which discussed the comparison of two dependent groups; and Prof. Kismiantini, Ph.D., who reviewed the analysis of more than two groups, both independent and dependent. The material presented provided practical and theoretical insights to participants in processing data using a nonparametric statistical approach. This activity received high enthusiasm from participants and became a tangible manifestation of collaboration between universities in improving statistical literacy in the fields of education and social sciences.
