Firdaus Amruzain Satiranandi Wibowo, UNY Statistics Student, Class of 2021 and Team Contributed A Gold Medal for UNY at PIMNAS 2024
The National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) is an event organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), the National Achievement Center of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in the field of reasoning to compete national-level student scientific works. This event is one of the elaborations of the BPTI program to create a competitive academic climate among Indonesian students. This event is the peak of national-scale student scientific activities and is held at universities designated by BPTI. PIMNAS as a forum for scientific meetings and communication of student creative products, is attended by students or Student Creativity Program (PKM) team groups. Yogyakarta State University won 9th place in the 37th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) which took place at Airlangga University Surabaya, Friday (18/10) night. UNY won a gold medal in the presentation category and a silver medal in the poster category on behalf of the Student Creativity Program Team for Exact Research (PKM-RE) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences entitled 'Hydroxyapatite Bone Scaffold Engineering Based on a Combination of Green Mussel Shells (Perna Viridis) with Propolis/PVA Composite' and a talented student award on behalf of Ivathuszalma from the Physics study program, FMIPA UNY. The 2024 PIMNAS activity was attended by 525 teams from 118 universities throughout Indonesia, selected from 43,000 teams that registered to compete in the fields of research, innovative work, community service, creative ideas, application of science and technology, constructive ideas, futuristic ideas and entrepreneurship. The team that brought UNY's good name to PIMNAS was the PKM-RE FMIPA Team which won 3 awards at once, namely Talented Students, Gold Medals, and Bronze Medals. This team researched the use of green mussels as a treatment for bone fractures, consisting of Ivatuszalma, Nihadlul Munaa and Kiky Errysza Asyifa Maida (Physics), Firdaus Amruzain Satiranandi Wibowo (Statistics) and Oktiana Prabawati (Biology).
