PRACTITIONER LECTURE FOR "DATA MINING FOR STATISTICS" AND "DATABASE FOR STATISTICS" COURSES

The Statistics Study Program FMIPA UNY has held Practitioner Lectures in the field of Data Mining and Databases. This practitioner lecture presented Deni Prasetya Dewantara S.Kom. and Dian Anggriawan Hidayat as resource persons. Deni Prasetya Dewantara is a practitioner in the field of data mining and is currently working as a software engineer at Widya Analytic, while Dian Anggriawan Hidayat is a consultant working at CV Three Connections. This practitioner lecture was successfully held on December 4th, 2021 at 08.00-12.00 WIB. This course is generally required for Statistics students who in this semester are taking Data Mining for Statistics and Database for Statistics courses. This activity was attended by 137 participants, both students and lecturers in the Statistics study program.

The first session was held with Deni Prasetya Dewantara explaining how to retrieve data from the Twitter API step-by-step. The demonstration is given using the Python programming language. Then the second session was filled by Dian Anggriawan Hidayat's brother. This second session explained the importance of transforming data in different formats into one format in an SQL-based database. From the holding of this guest practitioner lecture, students are expected to have a better understanding of the role of statistics students when they are involved in the data mining and database industry in particular.
