The Opportunity for Continuous Collaboration of the UNY Statistics Study Program with Badan Pusat Statistik D.I. Yogyakarta

In order to fulfill a number of University Performance Indicators (IKU) of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia including appropriate graduate absorption, off-campus student experience, use of lecturer work results, and lecturers with activities outside the campus. The Statistics Study Program FMIPA UNY held a Need Assessment and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) under the umbrella of Lecturer Activities Off-Campus with the Central Bureau of Statistics, Special Region of Yogyakarta Province (Badan Pusat Statistik D.I. Yogyakarta/BPS DIY) which took place on 28 and 30 December 2021 at BPS DIY. The activity began with opening and remarks by Mr. Sugeng Arianto, M.Sc. as the Head of the DIY Central Bureau of Statistics, which was then followed by a presentation of the study program profile delivered by Mrs. Kismiantini, Ph.D. as the Coordinator of Statistics Study Program FMIPA UNY. The Need Assessment activity begins with an explanation of the opportunities for the design of collaborative activities between the Statistics Study Program FMIPA UNY and the DIY Statistics Center delivered by the team leader Lecturer Activities in Industry Mrs. Rosita Kusumawati, M.Sc. The Need Assessment and FGD activities succeeded in identifying the needs of the BPS DIY and the participation of the Statistics Study Program FMIPA UNY in order to answer industry needs specifically for BPS DIY as well as developing tri dharma educational activities in the form of education, research and community service. The Statistics Study Program FMIPA UNY has great hopes that this activity will be the first step which will become the strongest foundation for a good and sustainable cooperative relationship between the Statistics Study Program UNY and BPS DIY.
