Manipulative materials are seen to be used to assist understanding and learning. The most difficult thing to teach is giving reasons why mathematics is rational. For example, if a number is divided, the result becomes bigger, such as if the number 4 is divided by ½, the result is 8. This makes mathematics learning seem difficult. To show this, it is easier to teach with Manipulative material.

A student who learns mathematics will naturally be trained to honestly use a definition or theorem to prove the next theorem. This verification process also trains openness to accept criticism and suggestions from other people so that they obtain valid and accountable evidence.

The use of definitions, lemmas and theorems will train the consistency of students who study them. Inconsistencies will cause the final results to be wrong or even contradictory.
This was conveyed by UNNES Semarang...
